Easter

I feel a bit guilty about how I let Easter just slip by. We pretty much phoned it in this year. I forgot all about doing a Christ-centered activity about the resurrection. I ALMOST forgot to remind the Easter bunny to get something for the baskets. Thank goodness he takes calls at 11pm on Saturday nights. I didn't make a thing for dinner---thank goodness my dad had us over for roast. One thing we DID manage to do was dye Easter eggs. (The speckled ones are supposed to be Yoshi eggs. They're currently obsessed with Mario-themed Wii games).

I didn't even get a picture of the kids in their Easter outfits. Well, except for Grace, of course. This was my first experience with getting my child an Easter dress, and so I wasn't going to pass THAT up. Isn't she lovely?

Maybe I'll do better next year.

Stevie's First Grade Field Trip

This year, Stevie's field trip took place at the Houston Zoo! Unfortunately, younger siblings were not allowed, so once again, I stayed home with Grace and Jacob while Steve went along as a chaperone. Stevie loved having his dad there.

Stevie and his friend M went had a great time together.

School Carnival

April 14th once again brought the boys' elementary school carnival to town! We took the whole family out to enjoy the fun (and drop a bunch of cash in a short amount of time).

The boys REALLY enjoyed the dunk tank where they could try and dunk their principal. Stevie dunked her in the water on his very first pitch!

There was also your garden variety of fair food, bouncy houses and carnival games

And of course, the boys couldn't pass up getting their hair spray-painted.

Fun (though a tad exhausting) times.

David's Kindergarten Field Trip

David's Kindergarten took a field trip to see "Peter Rabbit" at the Galveston Grand 1894 Opera House. Since I was saddled down a bit with little Gracie, Steven took the day off work to be a chaperone. Steve told me that the play ended up being totally bizarre and even a bit creepy, but the kids liked it.

Afterwards they ate lunch and goofed around at the park.

David had a great time with his dad and friends.

Battleship Texas

My brother Adam and his family came to visit for my dad's birthday this year (April 2nd). We decided to head up to visit Battleship Texas, a museum ship near Houston. The Battleship Texas 'is notable for being one of only six remaining ships to have served in both World Wars.' Neat, huh?

As you can see, it's enormous.

Jacob Turned 2! (A month ago...)

I'm a little behind...

But my 3rd son, the one and only Jacob, turned 2 on March 16th and I think it's worth chronicling (if only in pictures...)

Easiest birthday party ever...very low key (we decided to have one at the last minute)




Nothing beats balloons and cupcakes in the park. Jake was a fan...especially of the cupcakes.



(Grace made her first outdoor debut that day as well)
